In Photos & Quotes: California Marriage Ruling Celebration
Thousands of California residents, gay and straight, poured into the streets, gathered at LGBT community centers and partied at home and in the clubs on Thursday to celebrate the historic ruling of the California Supreme Court to overturn the ban on same-sex marriage in the state. We bring you the celebration with photos from gatherings in Los Angeles and quotes from notable figures around the country regarding the Supreme Court ruling.

Wedding Bell Blues
There was an earthquake in California yesterday. No homes—straight or LGBT—were destroyed. Barriers to inequality, however, were demolished when the Golden State’s Supreme Court struck down the state’s law banning same-sex marriage. I just wish the decision could have come out after Election Day. My concern is the impact this decision will have on the presidential race.

Hypocrites of the Week: Uncommitted Dem. Superdelegates
Among the big headlines of the week, calls for Sen. Hillary Clinton to exit the race for the democratic presidential nomination are most prominent. But instead of all the chatter about what it might take to get Hillary Clinton out of the race, more attention should be focused on why the remaining uncommitted democratic superdelegates have made it possible for Clinton to keep her campaign alive.

California Supreme Court Overturns Gay Marriage Ban
In a historic moment for the LGBT community in the United States, the California Supreme Court has ruled in favor of allowing same-sex marriages in the state. The court handed down the decision on Thursday morning to overturn the state’s ban on gay marriage, making California only the second state in the U.S. to grant equal marriage rights to same-sex couples.

California Gets Marriage Equality… And It’s Only the Beginning
The California Supreme Court has ruled in favor of marriage equality. It has ruled in favor of equal access for all people living in the state—and anyone who wants to go visit—to get married. Bravo California... time to celebrate. But remember; our work has just begun.

Hillary Clinton: 'And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going'
Now this is just getting ridiculous. By all accounts, Wednesday, Hillary Clinton should have been thanking her supporters while steering them toward BarackObama.com. But in case you haven’t heard, Clinton is determined to be 'The Little Engine that Could.' In other words, she’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Now somebody please tell me; what kind of sense does that make?

Gay Civil Unions or Partnerships Not Full Equality, Says Bishop
Bishop Gene Robinson’s new book, In the Eye of the Storm, is a reflection on his journey of faith, his life experiences, the concerns that matter most to him as a bishop and the controversy that has rocked the church he loves and to which he is committed. The openly gay Bishop of New Hampshire sets out his valuesand offers a way forward in the equality battle faced by Christian gay men and women.

Note to Hillary Clinton: The Singing Fat Lady is in the Wings
If you believe in media narratives (sometimes a very dangerous thing to do) Sen. Hillary Clinton’s quest for the White House has come to an end. But just hours after narrowly winning in Indiana and getting clocked in North Carolina, Clinton apparently chose to ignore the math and headed to West Virginia. A Democratic Party divided, 'The person best able to unify the party is Senator Clinton.'

Hypocrite of the Week: Rush Limbaugh
Rush Limbaugh is not a hypocrite because he masterminded ‘Operation Chaos,’ an attack strategy that simply exploits the democrats laissez-faire attitude about who is allowed to vote in their party’s primaries and caucuses. Limbaugh is a hypocrite because he has intentionally attempted to manipulate the 2008 race for the White House under the guise of wanting to do what’s best for America. Talk about a contradiction.

Op-Ed: The Few, the Proud, the Convicted Felons
The military doesn’t want gay men or lesbians serving in the armed forces but they are actively recruiting convicted felons. Rape, manslaughter, arson, kidnapping on your record? No problem. Just don’t be queer. The number of reports of physical violence and abuse by soldiers returning from duty is alarming. What do we think we are doing sending people who are already disturbed over there?
